This product acts as a solvent and an intermediate for the production of dimethyl sulfoxide, methionine and pesticides. It can be used as a solvent in organic synthesis, polymerization and cyanation reactions. It is also utilized as an analytical reagent, for spinning polyacrylonitrile and other synthetic fibers, as well as in hydraulic oil applications.
